OULU letters
Oulun matkailuneuvonta
The OULU letters are one of the newest attractions in Oulu, and the people of Oulu voted for Hupisaari as their location. The letters are a prominent part of the cityscape, and taking selfies next to them has become a popular way to capture memories of Oulu – ensuring you won't forget where the photos were taken!
The letters were unveiled on Saturday, October 7, 2023. They are made from an eco-friendly geopolymer, also known as eco-concrete. The material was researched and developed at the University of Oulu. The design and production of the letters were carried out by Keko Geopolymeerit Oy, while the installation was completed by Oulun Infra. The lighting was provided by Jonna Liius / Fixulux Oy.
