Tuiranpuisto Park

Oulun matkailuneuvonta

Tuiranpuisto Park accommodates a well-preserved pavilion hospital setting typical of the late 19th century. The area includes 16 buildings connected to the hospital entity, all built between the years 1900 and 1926. The architecture ranges from the period of Finnish autonomy to the early years of our independence since 1917. The purpose of the Hospital Park situated in fresh pine woods outside the actual town was to function as a healing and hygienic environment. The beautiful views and architecture were carefully thought out. The scent of rhododendrons lingers in the air behind the old maternity hospital Nukkela, delighting park visitors in midsummer.
