  • Approximately 170 000 m3 of pulpwood is cut down annually.
  • 25% of exports from Finland are from the forest industry. The products are mostly sold to Europe.
  • Refined paper and paperboard products make up 80% of the value of the forest industry exports.
  • Pulpwood form Kuusamo is refined in Kemijärvi, Kemi, Oulu and Kajaani.

Cellulose is chemically produced raw material for paper, groundwood pulp and refined groundwood pulp are mechanically produced raw material for paper.
