Franzén Park

The park was named after poet and author Franz Mikael Franzén from Oulu. In the center of the park, there is a bust of the writer, sculpted by Erland Stenberg in 1879. Previously the place was home to so-called Church Square, which was transformed into its current form in late 19th century. Around the park there are examples of construction since the City of Oulu was established, nowadays representative mainly of 19th century development.
